Christmas 24 , 1905: 3:03pm, I’m worried that I haven’t gotten my dear Della a present yet. I’ve saved up about 43 dollars for these beautiful combs I’ve seen Della eyeing for quite some time now, but the problem is that the combs are 68 dollars and I don’t know how I’m going to come up with 15 dollars within the next few hours. I could ask my boss for a few extra dollars as a Christmas bonus but I highly doubt it. I have to get back to work now. 5:25pm, While at work I’ve come up with a solution. I’ll go to a general store on my way home and sell my watch in order to get the money to buy my love her present. 5:58pm, I sold my watch and it was exactly enough to buy the combs. Oh Della will be so happy, she may even cry a little that I got her the combs. The combs are very exquisite, they’re made of turtle shells and have a hand crafted handle. It’s a work of pure art. I cant wait to see the look on her face. 6:40pm (I think), I don’t know what time it is now. I think I may be running late or I could be early. It has started to get dark outside and the temperature is slowing dropping so I think I’m early. Unknown time. I’m right outside the door of our house.
